More than £32,000 has been raised for the four charities!
Jannina thanks everyone for all their contributions and support, as a result of which more than £32,000 has been raised for the four charities! This January, while visiting South Africa, she will present the Topsy orphanage with 100,000 Rand. On her return to the UK, Jannina will start writing her book.
After 4500 miles over 48 weeks, Jannina completed her charity walk all the way around Britain at 1pm on Saturday 25th November on the Cob at Lyme Regis, Dorset. There was a good crowd of wellwishers to cheer her over the line, then the celebrations continued in the Royal Standard pub, close to the Cob and the RNLI.
Jannina Henderson and her two dogs have covered a distance of more than 4500 miles since setting off from the Cob at Lyme Regis on 1st January 2006 to walk the coast of mainland Britain in aid of charity.
She will cover all the costs of the walk herself, so every penny collected will go towards the charities. The target is £100,000, which will be divided equally between them, and she hopes to collect many of the donations along the way from the people she meets. The closing date for donations is 31 December 2006.
The RNLI, The Woodland Trust, the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) and an Aids orphanage in South Africa will benefit equally from the funds collected.
‘I have chosen projects within each of the specified charities in an effort to maximise impact for every donation’, explains Jannina, ‘and I would like to thank everyone who has been so generous and supportive along the way so far. You know who you are!
